Here I am being out to lunch on the whole Performa 200 thing....
I had some nasty surgery (personality implant...unsuccessful, as it
turns out...ha ha ha....ahem.), and was recovering. My Father being
the guy he was, figured I was going to be out of action for a while
(I had been working as a Location Manager in film & TV...) and came
in with a bunch of boxes: a Performa 200, a printer, and a scanner.
I just about had a relapse. It was a great little box, but I outgrew
it and gave it to my then-girlfriend who is now in Vancouver. I
emailed her, and it's still her daily driver; in fact, she said (and
I quote:)
"Do you want it back? I know I should give it back to you and I can
afford a better home computer (!) but I love it. It's my lucky Mac.
Everything I've written on it has sold."
and
"...it is still in perfect condition. I am afraid that when it goes,
my career will flame out too..."
I went from being a tech-type to writer on that little box, and she
started her writing career on it too.
She did go on to invite me to visit it for a few weeks this summer.
Who knows? Maybe we'll get back together, finally get married....AND
THEN HALF OF IT WILL BE MINE AGAIN!!!!!!!

Kidding. It was a good little box. Now if anyone wants to sell their
Mac TV to me, that's what I really want......
