Hi everyone, its me again with the Satanic Lombard . .
We signed up for one of these DVD-by-post things. It's great, but the lombard is being a bit fussy about the dvds, having real trouble even mounting them if they're even slightly scratched.
If they mount, then they play ok, with occasional stuttering but nothing unusual.
But several won't mount, just get stuck in an endless loop with the drive going 'whiiiir -CLICK, whiiir-CLICK' and never mounting it.
Is this a known issue with this machine - it was after all one of the very early DVD drives made, so perhaps just not as forgiving as modern ones?
Or do you think this particular drive is on the way out, and a new one might fix the issue?
