Greetings. Slowly my PowerBook 2400c is taking shape. I got 8.6 update successfully installed. I got 128-bit encryption working on the wireless card. And I'm getting all my favorite apps installed. Now I am the tweaking stage, and have a few questions. It's been a long time since I've lived in the pre-OS X world, and I've forgotten so much!
1. I'm wanting to get as a lean an OS as possible. I've turned off as many obvious extraneous Control Panels and Extensions that I can, but I'm sure there's a bunch more that I could turn off if I only knew what they related to. Is there a source that describes these and gives some indication about whether they are essential? 2. After trying a few different browsers, I've opted for Netscape 4.8. Seems to be the snappiest. But I'm having trouble locating the ability to rename bookmarks. It must be obvious. I highlight a bookmark in Edit Bookmarks. I click again on the name. I try Control-Click to emulate right-clicking from a mouse. Nothing seems to work. What am I missing? 3. I would like to put iTunes on. The readily available v. 2.0.4 is not compatible with OS 8.6.
