I would try to extract the hard drive, but I do not have access to a computer with an OS lower than 10.0.
simply put the drive into any 2.5" HD USB or firewire enclosure: the PB 5300 HD is pretty much the same of modern HDs! Any Mac OS X base Mac will see it as a USB or FW HD.
