> Kevin, if this is the same drive you were having fun last time

If you are talking about the 240MB drive in my PowerBook 520, then no.
This is a different drive. I bought this PowerBook (a 520c) last
October on eBay after my last one died. Is this a common problem with
these particular drives?

If it fails it fails. I only bought this PowerBook as a temporary
replacement to my last one anyway. It was only $8.50.

> Another possibility is the various trees are corrupted

I used Disk First Aid and it didn't report any errors. The drive
"appeared" to be OK.

Thanks.
