Hi all:

I have lurked for a while and I am happy for all the information I have gleaned
from this list. Unfortunately I now have a problem.

I was using my 1400c/166 while I was on vacation last week. When I was
finished using it for the last time, I shut it down and placed it into my
carrying case (vertically). I just happened to be in the bag for something
else and I noticed that the sleep indicator light was on solid (not flashing).

I can't remember if this light is on solid when I am using the computer. The
screen is black. I first tried pressing the <return> key, nothing. Next I
attempted to turn on the computer by pressing <on/off>, nothing. Finally, I
attempted to restart the computer by pressing <ctrl><command><on/off>, nothing.
I plugged in the computer, thinking that there may not be enough juice in the
computer to turn on or restart. I repeated the above steps, and nothing.

This has never happened to me, but you are all so smart that I know someone out
there knows what the problem is. I suspect it is a simple problem and an
equally simple fix. I really need to get some files off this computer, so I
appreciate all your sage advice :-)

Thanks ahead of time to any replies,
