Okay, I tried the computer on the network at work today. I could actually see the homepage! Then the problems started. I got one Java error message after another, until I got the sad Mac and "error 11--restart". Which I did three times. The fourth time, I got the sad mac and the computer locked up.
I know the card is good, I know the computer is doing its job. I think Netscape is my problem now. I will wait until I can get the software for another browser such as iCab or something more Mac friendly. To the lister who wrote saying I should be able to get on the net at home through my DSL modem, you're probably right. However, the modem is configured, I think, either/or, not USB and ethernet. My PC is using the USB port to get on the internet, so I don't think it will recognize the ethernet port. I tried disconnecting the USB cable, but still no luck. Thanks to everyone who offered help, I really appreciate it. I hope I can return the favor some time. Roy -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
