Sean,

Should be very easily done, tedious more than anything else, since both machines will have to be almost completely dismantled. The 3400c comes in 180, 200 or 240 MHz, called variously the 3500 or Kanga or G3 is 250 MHz. The 5300, 3400c and 3500 are all the same form factor, the 5300 is different electronically, but the 3400c and the 3500 have very few parts that don't interchange directly, the main issue being the RAM expansion card and in this case since I don't understand the engineering involved, it appears that some may work. I have no actual experience with this swap.

" The RAM expansion card for the Macintosh PowerBook G3 computer is similar to the one for the PowerBook 3400 computer, but with a few important differences. "

" The PSX+ used in the Macintosh PowerBook G3 computer supports most but not all of the RAM devices supported by the PSX. "

Roger

IMPORTANT
The Macintosh PowerBook G3 computer supports only the types of DRAM devices specified for use with the PSX+ . Other types of DRAM devices should not be used
with this computer."

Any success stories out there of swapping mobo from a kanga to a
3400c? Any other mobos that would fit a 3400c?
Thanks!
Sean
