I have a PowerBook Duo 2300c and a 190cs, and both of them suffer from erratic pointer movement when I'm using the trackpad. They're both essentially unusable. I did some searching and found the Trackpad Climate Control extension, but this "makes the mouse less response" and seems like a cheap band-aid solution.

Was a newer revision of the trackpads in these machines released? Would replacing it with a new repair service item solve the problem?

The 2300c is really really bad, and it's a shame because I use that every day...
