*SAN/NAS Backup Recovery Engineer* *Location: Houston, TX Length: 12-18 MONTHS* *Start: 1 week* *Interview :phone* *Rate: / HR All inclusive* Consultant will be responsible for storage provisioning, storage network management (SAN and NAS), and backups for many diverse application systems and operating systems. Must have knowledge of the industry trends, future storage possibilities, and over all technical direction as well as be able to mentor others in the team to grow their knowledge base and experiences. Consultant will install, customize, and integrate the client’s storage solution *Skill summary:* • *Intermediate skills in storage products – Storage Area Networks (SAN), Enterprise Storage Arrays, * • *Knowledgeable of large scale Enterprise backup and NAS solutions * • *Intermediate experience with multiple host operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, HP HPUX, IBM AIX)* • Intermediate knowledge of multiple major vendor platforms • Intermediate business continuity/resiliency knowledge • Delivers project and process documentation for small-to medium-scale projects and drives compliance with structured Project Delivery Process. • Must have a strong technology background to understand change requests and to recommend alternate solutions. *Specific Storage Administration Expertise:* • Typically 2 years + experience in distributed storage environments. • 2 Year+ experience in an associated technology (Server, Networks) • Knowledge of zoning in a large switched fabric environment. • *Knowledge of experience configuring EMC DMX and/or Intermediate HDS Lighting line of products.* • *Intermediate experience configuring and deploying Netapp Products, EMC Celerra amd DFM operations Manager* • Intermediate experience installing and configuring host bus adapters. • Intermediate knowledge/experience designing and deploying snapshot, mirror, snapvault, aggregates/qtrees/volumes • *Business Skills**:* - Good understanding of impact and importance of storage services to customers. Sense of urgency around critical issues. - Good positive attitude and helpful approach - Good spoken and written English - Ability to communicate clear and concise information in support of team and firm goals. - Timely escalation of critical and/or complex issues as required. • Ability to solve operational issues with both tactical and long-term solutions • Good problem solving and analytical skills - Excellent time management and personal task prioritisation - Good planning skills and ability to deliver to agreed schedules.
