Location: Portland Rate: Best possible 6-18 months Performance test engineer *The focus is to conduct performance/load/stress testing on a client server based application using the HP LoadRunner testing tools combined with the HP Quick Test Professional [QTP] tool. Responsibilities to include: • Create and execute performance testing using the HP QTP automation tool. • Ability to produce and disseminate meaningful metrics via LoadRunner • Sound knowledge of descriptive programming using VB script • Strong knowledge in creating reusable functions across the modules. • Executing the HP LoadRunner performance testing tool. • Utilize QTP and LoadRunner tools to a client server based application • Testing multi-tiered Client server applications • Properly documents tests, executes them, and accurately reports testing status and test results to project stakeholders. • Logs all defects discovered and tracks them through closure • Works in high collaboration with software development staff to assist in the reproduction and resolution of defects. • Makes recommendations to improve product reliability and performance. • Other duties which may be assigned from time to time. Requirements for this position include the following: • Extensive prior automation/performance testing experience. • Expert knowledge of software testing related experience with the Mercury testing tools, including QTP and Loadrunner • Strong SQL knowledge to test Oracle / MS SQL Database applications • Identify, automate, and execute test cases, including fault diagnostics. • Develop automated GUI tests using QTP and create automated GUI regression tests. • A minimum of six years professional automation and performance testing experience. • Knowledge of software quality assurance practices, tools and techniques. • Knowledge of software development lifecycle. • Leadership and teamwork skills to negotiate with and influence peers and management on policy and strategic issues. • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
