Provide support and guidance for the vendor/open source product suite to the user community, in particular with the Apache, Tomcat and JBoss AS products . Engineering of load and certification suites for supported products including customization of the configuration and packaging . Integration of application servers and open source frameworks with internal software and the firm's infrastructure components. . Develop an understanding of the internals of many of the open source products . Develop an understanding of the internals of the developed frameworks including a JTA compliant transaction manager. . Develop and maintain expertise in the following products: Weblogic Server, Tomcat, Apache Web Server, JBoss AS, Hibernate/JPA and jBPM . Maintain technical awareness in JEE and open source technologies Experience/Skills: Required skills: . * Well-rounded Java Developer with JEE experience (5+ years)** . C/C++ Experience (5+ years) . Experience with Apache Web Server; configuration, build, internals (2+ years focus) . Experience with Application Servers: Weblogic, Tomcat, JBoss; configuration, build, internals (2+ years focus) . Unix shell scripting* . Experience debugging complex and multi-threaded code . Desire and ability to dive into and analyze unfamiliar code . Good inter-personal and communication skills . Ability to solve problems quickly and completely . Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them . Must be able to sustain a high rate of workflow and work on multiple projects . Knowledge of Monitoring and Performance Management tools a plus (JMeter, SpecjAppServer) Preferred skills: . * Experience using JDBC (Sybase and UDB preferred)** .
