MicroStrategy Administrator – position requires a seasoned MicroStrategy Administrator who can administer a robust enterprise environment and is responsible for all aspects of MicroStrategy Administration functions for projects, servers, user & security administration. Duties encompass but are not limited to: - Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the tool. - Manage and maintain vendor software releases; conduct analysis for new releases and make recommendations as appropriate. - Provide on-call Production support as needed. - Provide project setup and architecture support. - Support user training. - Provide Metadata (Intelligence Server and Web Server) development. - Provide user/developer support. - Complete documentation of the tool and associated processes as required. - Participate in security audits, addressing findings if applicable. - Maintain optimal performance of the application by conducting performance monitoring and tuning activities; utilize knowledge of best practices and industry standards to make recommendations regarding performance. - Participate/make recommendations in capacity planning activities. - Maintain project schemas. - Administer the change management process by migrating projects and objects through the various environments. - Provide technical support; troubleshoot issues as appropriate. - Serve as a technical expert providing input to application design regarding production tuning and administration requirements. - Participate in load testing exercises. Preferred background and skills: - 5 years hands-on Administration experience with MicroStrategy 8.x/9.0 including Desktop, Architect, Administrator, and server support. - Experience with CMS technical architecture and systems a plus. - Knowledge of LDAP and RBAC a plus. - Experience with administering MicroStrategy Web and Intelligence servers across multiple environments. - Experience with supporting multiple business clients and multiple MicroStrategy projects. - Proficient in understanding advanced report development and design as well as Intelligence Server configuration settings for performance tuning. - Comfortable working in a production environment with change management, defect tracking and status reporting processes. -------------------------------------------------------------- *Rate: $ 60 per hr* Looking for a strong Microstrategy Developer, not someone whose been doing ½ admin ½ development. *Worksite is Woodlawn, MD.* The MicroStrategy Developer is a position responsible for planning, conducting, and directing the analysis and implementation of MicroStrategy system integrations, empowering and training users in MicroStrategy, and helping to ensure the ongoing support, development, and maintenance of the MicroStrategy tool. The incumbent of this position possesses strong analysis skills with the ability to identify, review, and evaluate existing data structures. He/she must apply a broad knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures related to the MicroStrategy environment and usually work with minimum supervision. Responsibilities: Provides ongoing project management for the MicroStrategy environment, including: * Coordinate with project team members and vendor to ensure timely, accurate, and complete delivery of committed tasks * Promote and ensure appropriate use of the MicroStrategy * Develop and deliver MicroStrategy presentations and trainings * May be assisted by Entry Level personnel and usually reports to or works with a Senior Level specialist * Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity * Adheres to applicable CMMI policies and procedures * Responsible for providing recommendations for improving CMMI standard processes and procedures for area of responsibility Qualifications: Experience Requirements * MicroStrategy Administration and Development Experience * Solutions for development of cubes, dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy * MicroStrategy Administration to include: Installation and Configuration; LDAP and AD Security configuration, Performance Management. * Constructing data decomposition diagrams, providing data flow diagrams and documenting the process. * Identifying and documenting data quality issues and data patterns. * Writing code for database access, modification and construction including stored procedures. * Familiarity with a variety of the field concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to rely on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform function of the job. * Experience using other Business Intelligence Reporting/Querying tools as well various ETL Tools. (Examples- Informatica, Cognos, and Business Objects) would be beneficial.
