Work with a friendly and helpful team, using the latest versions of Ruby 1.9 and Rails 3. The team needs another Rails guru, but an ability to write quality code for very large systems is more important than years of Rails experience. Will work in small, self-directed, project-based groups, using an Agile methodology, some pair programming and two-week iterations. Every developer does some requirements gathering, design and coding. New projects and groups form throughout the year. The client encourage exploration of new tools and techniques. Must enjoy solving problems and taming complexity. Developers will augment a three year Media Services project for one of the largest publication companies in the world. Developers will support a network of web sites reaching 52 million unique monthly users. There are currently 99 daily papers! in the U.S. and U.K. with 23 TV stations and the applications are hosted in internal data centers in Maryland and Arizona.
