Different areas of work include QA integration testing, regression testing, Functional testing, Smoke testing and Adhoc testing. STB Testing involves testing on Scientific Atlanta and Samsung models. The various products tested will reside within the STB such as Digital Video Recorder, Search, Onyx guide, PPV, Settings, Parental Controls, Video On Demand and Shortcuts. Testing on STBs also involves Multi Room DVR (MRDVR) service which co-ordinates with the STB on a cloud based concept. Customers can manage their recordings from their STB within the cloud space provided to them. There are various models of STBs from Scientific Atlanta and Samsung that are being tested as part of the above. Testing also involves provisioning new customers via cablevision in-house applications for new STB/Phone/Internet services. Testing also involves various Active Video Network channels provided by Cablevision to its customers based on Interactive Advertising platform. In addition, we are involved in testing for iOS, Android Handheld, Kindle Fire and PC/Mac devices for a customized iO application provided by cablevision to its customers. This application allows customers to stream live TV on their devices when connected behind their home network. Additional features allows the customers to view the content of various categories / assets provided as part of Video On Demand, Searching for favorite movies / shows, Managing the DVR recorded / scheduled list and accessing various networks such as HBO, Showtime when connected to internet on their device. The application testing primarily involves lot of devices ranging from iPad latest generation to iPhone / iPod Touch, Android Handheld, Kindle Fire, PC Laptop, Mac laptop etc.. Also, the other areas of testing involves various portal applications provided to customers of Cablevision through Optimum.net. Different products tested as part of this include Bill Pay, outage communications and Movers (Bill Pay Enhancements) etc... This also covers the basic services a Cablevision customer is subscribed to such as TV, Phone and Internet services. Also, the customers, using the portal, will be able to manage their account settings, contact the customer support for any issue resolution, locating various hot spot locations provided by Cablevision to its customers free of cost, Searching for On Demand/TV content etc.. Testing includes portals for – Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Mac Safari as part of browsers.
