Hi All!
My impression from months of quiet subscription to this outstanding
mailing list has been that the new MacOS X probably will *NEVER*
operate on most pre-PowerTower Pro PC (read: "tusami-based"?)
clones...
'And yet, I ran across an eBay listing today from someone who's
claiming that he's been successful in running OS X off on one of
his/her three harddrives in a PC PowerTower upgraded with a 366 MHz
XLR8 ZIF G3 card (interestingly, with only a 512K backside cache).
See URL:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1254279788
I too have a PC PowerTower upgraded with a 366 MHz XLR8 (albeit, not
*ZIF*) G3 card and mine even has a full 1MB backside cache!
What's the deal? Is his/her eBay ad all 'hyperbolie'-----or what?
Anyone know? I did write him/her just a while ago but suspect I may
never get an answer since my question isn't directly related to the
successful auction of his/her G3-upgraded PC PowerTower.
TIA!
Greg Reeves
