have the same setup in my garage for fun - have run everything from 8.0 to 9.1 on it without any problems - in fact the 9.1 seems much faster and more stable (once you update your applications - versiontracker has updates for most applications) - to go from 7.6 to 8.0 or 8.1 I wouldn't expect as many updates to be necessary. 8.5 and 8.6 are the first systems really designed for the powerpc as well as having sherlock for a feature. Update your OS, update Netscape - supersellers.net have a fugi 9mb scsi low profile drive for $28 that I have been pleased with - it runs cool and reliably (so far). You can find powercomputing 604e daughter cards on ebay at speeds of 180, 200,225 for cheap that will run circles around the 150 604 card you have now (i know, I ran a 225 604e in the powercenter until a friend borrowed it - now I'm back to the 150 604 - a big difference. My powerwave has a powerlogix carrier card which has gone through a series of G3 zifs - none of which was very expensive - as well as having 3 128 mb dimms (velocityupgrades.com - $39.95@ ! ) - you can do alot without paying alot - have fun! Tell us how it all turns out. - oh yeah, make a backup disk of any data you can't afford to lose before you try any improvements. -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Save on Mac software -- Shop Software Outlet.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/software.outlet.html> Star Trek Collection: Movies 1-7 on VideoCD, $38.88 from CoolVCD <http://lowendmac.com/ad/coolvcd.html> - - - - - Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
