Yes...it will fit and work without any software etc. although you should
probably push the cuda
button on the motherboard (it's a 1/8" round button on the MB) after the
install, but even this
will probably not be necessary.

The converse is incompatible ie an Apple branded 200mHz 604e will not work
in a PowerCenter

You should also put a cache dimm into the cache slot of the 7500 if it
doesn't have one
(the 7500 did not contain cache as a standard feature). The cache dimm is
critical for
maximum performance from the upgrade
.
The caveat here is that the cache dimm from a PowerCenter may not be compatible
with the 7500. PowerComputing used the less expensive 3.3v cache dimm on their
PowerCenterPro's (catalyst board, same as PowerCenter) which is
incompatible with the
tsunami board architecture which wants a 5v module. The same may be true of the
512k cache dimm used in the PowerCenter.

Cache dimms are available in 256k, 512k and 1024k sizes. The 256 is quite
common
and cheap, the 512 much less common and the 1024 still commands a few
bucks. If you
buy a cache dim on eBay or elsewhere, make sure that the height of the
cache dimm is
the same as the ram dimms. Some cache dimms, particularly from the
PowerTowerPro's,
many of which used a 1 mb Workgroup Server type, are too high.

Cheers...Michael
