In a networked system. unless you have a strict and rigid, HMFIC, 'IS',
'Hitler" ... folks tend to install little tid bits off their MacAddict
Disks. Upgrading all the little shareware, freeware, netware, nightmare,
underwear programs, with associated extensions and control Panels is a !@#$%.

'Spring Cleaning' all the Orphaned, Preferences, extensions, goofy Fonts
and other such drivel ... left on the disk after 'Demo'ing games, etc.
and then merely pulling the program folder to the trash, wastes more
hours on each machine.

If you've ever been in a networked, MicroSuck "Broken" Winder or DEC
environment; OS System upgrades can be as helter skelter as 'Fathers Day
in shanty town'. RHB

I'll also offer this entirely unscientific, non-engineering and totally
un-provable observation: Many Macs (especially when in a herd, i.e.,
networked), when taken to a new OS, exhibit instability (neuroses) that only
 time and TLC will resolve.

I'm confident this will put an end to OS debates. :-)
