I've been out of state a couple of weeks and missed out on Eric's 210
problem. I had a very similar situation and solved it by replacing the
APC Back-UPS Pro 420 Battery...
But to get to the meat of this ...
QUESTION ??? What's all this bad mouthing of PowerComputing Power
Supplies? ...
I've several PowrCom units in my home office & in the field (Chillins &
Gran Chillins). ALL, as in none, have never experienced a Power Supply
Failure. I did replace one on a Power 100 with a Sonnet 300MHz G3 board.
BY MISTAKE! It wasn't the Power Supply. $100 down the drain due to
Cockpit malfunction.
After looking at Replacement costs, I went to e-bay and bought two 300
watt and two 250 watt Power Compng units. Didn't think I would ever need
them but, "Just in Case"...
I've also seen Power Com's keyboards bad mouthed on e-bay. At the
present time I've 6 in service and never a failure ... In fact, the only
bad key boards I've come across were Apple Branded... Wait! Data Desk
keyboards are prone to break a wire at the ABD ports but, each time I
sent one back to Data Desk, they were repaired and returned at no charge
and with my Dvorak Key layout unmolested. All are still are in service.
