What you have said is true and is also generally the case. However, I know that
one symptom of seeing only half of the memory is that the DIMM is a 4K refresh
instead of a 2K refresh. In this case, the 4K won't work "to it's full potential"
when installed in a machine that needs a 2K refresh (which is what I believe the
6500 wants). Thus, if a company actually made 128MB 2K refresh DIMMs, they would
likely work in the 6500. Not knowing specifically about the technology, I don't
know if it's even possible, or if they just weren't made because of demand or
some other market reason.
