I heard that most of the G3/4 upgrade card manufacturers were working tenaciously on work arounds. I do know that there are complicated work arounds (which have gotten easier with a couple of downloads.) I've even heard of a few people who got OS X working on a 604e! Go to www.dogpile.com and search for OS X on g3 upgrade.
