>To sum up the choices I would prefer : >1.Get the 2nd hand CD-ROM ToolKit 2.3.2 >and update the drive.
CDROM Toolkit is for mounting third party CDROM drives. Not hard drives. You still need this if you want to use the CDROM inside your PowerComputing computer. Or buy a used Apple CDROM drive instead. >2. Get the 2nd hand Power Center OS8 CD. Get this too, because it has both Apple's Drive Setup and HD toolkit. Either one should work to initialize the hard drive. If using the Drive Setup, ignore the warning. At this point you have nothing to lose anyway. >Will that OS8 CD work and will I then be able >to download 8.1 without difficulty? The 8.1 Update should install fine on top of the version of 8.0 on the PowerComputing CD. >Is that the ToolKit I need? Again, you need both "Toolkits". Come to think of it, I'd expect both to be on the one PowerComputing CD. -David -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
