Greetings all,

Hopefully someone else has already encountered this problem and has a
work around. I have what started life as a Power Tower Pro 180, in 1995.
Been a great machine, and basically bullet proof. About 18 months ago I
upgraded the CPU to an apple G3 400 mhz.

I run 8.6 and use this machine daily. I wanted to add a Fire wire PCI
card so I can use my company's new digital video camera. The research I
di says the best way to do run this is upgrade to OS9.2

Bought the OS but when I go to install it, the OS installer is still
"seeing" this machine as a 604 e and saying it cannot be installed on
this computer. Obviously, even though I upgraded to the G3 there is
still some original identity on the system.

Does anyone have suggestions for ways to solve this problem.

Many thanks,

Jack Russell
