Hi all, Following my query last week re: the driver for the CD-ROM in my PTP 180, I have come to the conclusion that the drive has died.
I tried every driver suggestion, and drew a blank with all of them. The machine knows that the drive is there, but nothing - and I mean NOTHING - will mount, no matter what I try. I tried everything from a hacked driver (kindly sent by Rein Ciarfella, thanks heaps Rein) to FWB drivers, to Apple CD driver version 5.3.1 to CD Speedtools, to CD Sunrise - and nothing worked. Dead drive, I think..... Thanks heaps to everyone for all of your help. You're an incredibly helpful bunch. I have ordered an OEM Apple drive (secondhand) from my favourite parts supplier, so I'll let you know how it goes.
