Greetings, all! This is my first posting to this list-I just discovered it yesterday! My questions may have already been covered in previous posts, if so, I apologize.
I have a PowerTower Pro which I just upgraded with a Sonnet G4 450 card and 1 GB of Other World Computing ram. Everything is running great except...I can't use virtual memory anymore. The memory control panel says "This computer has more than 996M of RAM installed. Virtual Memory can only be used when less than this amount of RAM is installed." I am currently running OS 8.6, but plan to upgrade to OS 9 & X soon. Is the RAM limitation a hardware or software problem? Will it go away with an OS upgrade? Also, does anyone have experience with the XPostFacto vs. the Sonnet software patch to run OS X on an upgraded machine?
