Hi,

I've looked high and low for the solution to this problem. I thank
everyone that this is an active PCC mailing list.

My dad's old Power Computing machine recently died. No sound, no
response, no fans. He brought it over for me to fix. I have no idea what
type it is. It's a large tower (bigger than a PowerCenter 150),
motherboard says 1995, and I think it's around 200MHz (hard to check now).

I got a new power supply for it. I now have to use the power supply's
reset switch to turn the machine on. The only thing missing is the 5-pin
connector that goes right next to the P8 and P9 connectors on the
motherboard. I assume that's a Mac/Mac-clone thing.

The computer starts up with its "bong" noise and appears to be running.
I can hear all the normal sounds but I can't tell if the HD is spinning
because it's right up against the power supply.

The only problem is that nothing will show up on the monitor! I've tried
plugging the monitor into the monitor port, the SuperMac card, and the
monitor port without the SuperMac card in. Nothing. No flicker or
anything. I can hear the dang thing running.

I've heard on usenet that the battery could be a problem. Where is the
battery? Also, where is the battery on a PowerCenter/PowerCurve so I can
trade?

Thank you all very much,

Charles
