I would recommend you get OS 8.6. It was more stable for me than OS 8 or
8.5. If you get a 400 or 500MHz G3 daughter card and load up with RAM,
OS 9.1 is wonderful. BUT with the 604e bd, OS 9.1  slowed my 240 down
too much.
