I've a QUE External CD-RW which works well. The secret IMHO is the S/W. I've the latest ver of Toast Plat. I never found an EXTERNAL CD drive that could be pulled from the enclosure and inserted into the 'puter box. I'm sure it can be done but is it worth all the hassle? Yep the SCSI is faster. As to the slow peripherals ... you made have some ID problems, As the old 'Platter's' song goes, "Been Searching" ...
