Regarding your blackscreen,

Have you tried a different monitor? What is your video adapter situation?
Is it possible you are using one that has failed? Also, have you tried
putting the card in a different slot?  Are you sure the card is seated
propertly in the slot?

One last thing; since I upgraded my PTP225 with a Sonnet G4/450 (which I
love-major speed improvement over the original 225 card) my (two) monitors
won't start-up from a cold system start for about 5 minutes, or unless I
reboot a second time.
