In my recently aquired PTP I have been having a problem that has
existed through several modifications, but I'm still a bit lost. I'm
not done trouble shooting (still need to look at the possibility of
SCSI voodoo with a now unhooked drive), but I'm asking to see if
there is anything specific with clones that I'm just not used to.
This machine will not warm reboot. I always have to to a forced
power-down (not good for the finder or system software) and, I can't
get it to fire up consistently form another hard-drive
(command-option-shift-delete) or use the C-key to start from a CD
without choosing either from the start-up disk control panel. The 3
gig drive that was in it has 8.6 on it with LaCie utilities and FWB
on a separate partition, and runs fine (after the aforementioned
process), and 9 gig I put in has 9.1 (slower than 8.6 on a 604e, but
stable). I put a gig 'o ram in it, and 2 PCI cards (2nd monitor and
an Adaptec 2930) and it recognizes all the drives hooked up. When I
get it to run, it runs great, but these shutdowns are slowly taking a
toll on the system folders on both hard-drives. What am I missing?

Thanks,
Greg
