Which specific version of Netscrape (sarc) are you using? I had the same problem but I couldn't trace down the specific local of the bug.
I corrected the problem by install over it with Netscape 4.78 Netscape 4.78 I find to be the most stable of the old Communicator series. And its fairly quick if you set it up with the RAM Disk. Old versions of 4.75 or less could be subject to brown orifice attack But don't install V4.79 it has a few glitches thanks to AOL Time Warner extensions & prefs And don't bother with Netscape 6 series The random lockups and screen blackouts I find annoying and disturbing. You have a G3, so you could try Netscape 7.0 I find it has better mail capabilities but using it a while makes it a huge memory hog I am still putting it through sea trials and like any .0 app I finding a few bugs but not as serious a in Netscape 6 Give it a try but as they always say "Your mileage may vary" Wayne Robert H.
