Peter,

Have you tried checking to see if all of your memory is installed 
correctly?  Sometimes just looking at the DIMM in the slot doesn't 
tell you (witness my recent troubles w/ a PTP).  Try taking out each 
DIMM and re-installing it.  

Who knows, maybe one of them finally worked it's way loose enough that 
it doesn't quite fail the memory tests but doesn't quite pass them 
either... ;-)
