Uhhhhh, I beg to differ.  My PTP250 took 9.1 just fine. (So did the 
wife's 6400)

Is the original poster using either a retail installer or a burn 
thereof?  The problem could be as simple not having the full installer. 
  The included installer for a different machine might well fail to 
install.
