I upgraded a PowerBase 180 desktop with the PowerLogix G3 card. It worked great, until the machine unexpectedly stopped working a few months ago. The upgrade was a little tricky to figure out, those darn dip switches can get confusing, but once I had it running stably is was much faster than with the wimpy stock 180MHz.
The upgrade chip replaces the stock processor, so it doesn't go into an L2 or PCI slot. I'm hoping to be able to transplant that upgrade card into a PowerMac 7600 that I've got laying around, and hopefully eventually I'll be able to get the PowerBase back up and running. Hope this helps. Later, Matt On Sunday, October 20, 2002, at 09:06 PM, e c wrote: > Can anyone tell me if the CPU slot in the Powerbase is the same as > those in other PCI Power clones?
