I have the same machine and though I have not yet done that upgrade (because
I do most of my photoshop work on a newer Powerbook), I can tell you a few
things to consider. Photoshop is optimized for the G4 chip that has what
they call a "velocity engine" built in. This means that a G3 400mhz chip
and a G4 400mhz chip will have MAJOR speed differences doing photoshop
tasks. If you're only going to use one machine - go for the G4 chip. There
are reviews by users at: xlr8yourmac.com

Another thing you might consider is getting away from 8.6. Thank god for
the loyalty of Mac users - there are a couple of guys who have written
"hacks" to the operating system that will allow you to run OS9.2.2 on the
PTP225. I installed them 2 days ago and the machine runs as well as my
Powerbook. Take a look at: OS9forever.com
