I recently installed a Powerforce G3/400 on my PB180. The card came
with a nice instruction sheet which advised to remove the backside
cache that was installed in the machine. It then gave a rather complex
( sorry, I'm not a prophead) set of directions on adjusting the dip
switches on the card to squeeze more speed out of it. Until I got the
combination right, the PB behaved in exactly the way Spencer's did.
Now, it flogs my other computer into the ground (a flash-looking iMac
266), and doesn't crash at all. But be warned from my experiences
trying to run Jaguar on the iMac: 266mHz is way too slow to do more
than keep pace with word processing. Most OSX games won't run. So
perhaps 233mHz isn.t enough to give full value to OS9......
