ATA/IDE card seems to make sense (it's what MacAddict recommended a couple
of years ago for upgrading a Power Computing machine). New SCSI drives are
getting a little harder to find, and the ATA drives have tons more space.
Not sure about the performance.

(Would like to hear about that from a 'sperienced ATA user.)

I've seen a new Sonnet G4/700 going for $299. Hundred bucks more for 800.

Sure. I see a bunch of combo cards with (say) two firewire and two USB
ports.

Optical mouse with scroll button. Definitely. Even if it's a Microsoft Wheel
Mouse (criminally inexpensive and wonderful to use). That will use one of
your new USB ports.

Interested in adopting? ;=)
