I have PTP with an Apple 400 G3 upgrade card. I have Granite Digital
Firewire host adapter PCI card, and use their external Firewire
enclosures. It will boot from the firewire HD, if selected from the
start up drive control panel, in X. It takes a long time to boot from a
cold start on the external drive. Booting from the internal SCSI drive
is much faster.
