Get a DLink 4 port ROUTER or Linksys 4 port router (should be around $50). This will connect to your DSL modem's ethernet port (I assume it has one) into the router's WAN port. Then plugin both macs to the router and change your tcp/ip to DHCP and that should pretty much take care of it.
One other thing is how your IP addresses are assigned. Does your ISP give you 2 static IP or are they DHCP (Dynamic)? If they are DHCP, tell them you only need one, no further setup necessary. If its static, you will have to login to the router from your mac and set the router's IP address to one of the assigned numbers from your ISP. See the router manual. I have a Linksys 4 port with a Linksys hub and I have a Powermac 9500/233, a PowerWave G3/400, Compaq 500, 2 computers for my kids (PowerCurve G3/400) and my Landlady all connected via a 11Mbit 802.11 wireless connection to my ISP. They think I only have one computer. Greg Olson >My son and I share the same computing room. He has a IMac with OS 10.2.4, >I have a PowerComputing PowerCenter 132 with OS 8.6 .
