The wattage figure is what the system requires, so a larger wattage power supply is ok and in fact desirable in most cases. The only thing you should be careful of in most cases is installing a power supply that is smaller( lower wattage) than the original equipment.

Thanks, Charlie. I actually have a new ATX power supply I was going to use on a PC which ended up having other problems requiring a new system board and case...I'll try putting it in and see if that fixes it. Do you know if 200 watts is the limit...? The one I have may be a 250 watt...not sure.
