Hi, I got a Power Computing Power Center pro 210 from a
kind soul on the LEM Swaplist a few days ago, and was
originally give it to my wife to use as a machine at
school. (she's a teacher) However two things happened since
then. First, her school told her that they don't want her
to bring her own computer, and second, I've kinda grown
fond of it. I'm thinking of keeping it for myself.

However, if I keep it for myself, I'll have to abandon my
PowerMac 7300, as I don't have room for both machines at my
computer desk. There's also an SE/30 on this desk, which
will stay for as long it works (and probably get replaced
by another when it quits).

So I guess my question is, are there any reasons for me
switching to this machine instead of keeping the 7300. The
only one I see is that there are only 4 memory slots in
this machine versus 8 in the 7300. I don't really see this
as a downside, as Ive only got 2 slots full on the 7300,
and it has plenty of RAM for what I use it for (256M). I'm
guessing the 144M of RAM I've got in the PowerCenter would
be adequate for the light web surfing and games I play. As
I don't have a printer hooked to either machine, I don't
really do anything productive on them :)

Also, I saw that this machine has a SCSI card in it
(Adaptec 2940?) with nothing hooked to it. As I've never
had a machine with "faster" SCSI, would hooking an
appropriate drive to this card make things faster? If so,
what type of drive, and would it be bootable? I'm sorry for
the dumb question, my first Mac (and first use of SCSI) was
a 7100, and my 2nd was a G4-400; I kinda skipped a few
pages regarding SCSI.

Thanks in advance,

J White
