I'm sure one of you guys can help here. My PTP still has the original Twin
Turbo video card in it. It's an 8M card. Most everything else has been
upgraded - G4 450; FW; USB; 9.2.2, etc.
When I added a LaCie 19" monitor this spring, the screen redraw in Photoshop
kind of grunts its way along. I often watch 2" squares of video pop into
place to build the image. Is this call for a faster card and, if so, what do
you recommend?

TIA

Peter Braune

FWIW, my systems sounds very similar (PTP, G4 450, FW, USB, 9.2.2, 1 GB ram, 2 internal HDs, 2 internal CD-R), and TWO original Twin Turbo video cards (I got the second for $10 from OWC) running a 21" Dell monitor and 20" Sun monitor. I work in Photoshop daily, and occasionally on 100-200mg images. I have not seen any slowdown of screen redraw.

What resolution are you working in? I'm wysiwyg at (1024x768 and millions of colors.) If your at a higher resolution, perhaps that's the problem. Or maybe the card's not seated correctly. Can you try another monitor?

Good luck,
Scott
