It looks like the SCSI connector, only it doesn't have as many pins. 
It may even say IDE next to it.

I don't know about questions 1,3, or 4, but my PowerGuide MLB shows that
Powerbases have an ide internal connector just south of the scsi internal
connector (if looking at the board with the rear to the north).
