I hate to break it to you, but yes, your motherboard
is one of those that doesn't like the Crescendo cards.
 The website
(http://www.sonnettech.com/support/techtips/cpcitt04.html)
states that the G4 cards won't work in it, but I can't
recall whether or not the G3 cards will work.  The
site doesn't specify, and perhaps it won't do any
damage to try.  I had an email conversation with one
of their support guys about this issue.  I also have
that same motherboard type.  I did find out, however,
that the PowerForce cards *will* work properly in our
type of board.
