I'm having trouble installing my ethernet adsl modem. I work on a (second
hand) powerbase 180 with os 8.6. The only ethernet extension I found was
apple ethernet CS II. Since I don't have the option to choose connect via
ethernet in apple talk nor in tcp/ip, nor in the modem control panel, I
presume I miss the original driver of the pci ethernet card. On the card I
found "ID: heden1208". On another site I found that I probably need EtherPCI
Extension, which I can't find on the web. Can anybody help me.
Thanks in advance.

If you are using ethernet, you shouldn't need the modem control panel at all. Everything is going to be configured from the TCP/IP control panel (presumably using DHCP, unless your provider has given you other information). And another huge thing to check is the DNS information, since in many cases you might actually be connected and can connect directly via IP number, but not using a domain name.

You will need to look inside your case and find which PCI ethernet card you have. Look for the writing on the card itself (i.e., Farallon) and not the writing on the chips.

Once you find out which card you actually have, use the driver museum mentioned previously, or if you are really in a bind let me know. I have several driver disks for PCI ethernet cards, particularly those that came with PowerComputing machines.
