Way back, Michael Macdonald opened his PCP to give me the diamensions for
the processor fan, i.e., 60 mm. So saying, I bought some (10) Canon
CF60-T314NID - 12vdc - 70mA - fans from All Electronics for $3.50 each,
about two or three years ago ... put them on the shelf ... had a major
probject in work .... and promptly forgot about them.

This winter, I put 2 of them in my kit. Ordered the 80mm x 80mm x 25mm
"Silencer" fons from
PC Power & Cooling, Inc. - (800) 722-6555 - (760) 931-6988 FAX

You can order them with the correct female three pin leads with will add
$1.50 each

They also have "the Micron Fan" which is just a good 60mm fan that is
pretty low noise: 30dbA. It runs at 16 CFM and does not have a tach wire.
Think it costs $10 or $12 and can only be ordered by phone.

I had read previous posts of having to break the sealant loose inside the
power supply and messing with circuit boards ... and just put it off.

ON the PTP 210 , I just cut the leads, put on some shrink tubing and
soldered together to the new fan leads. Be very careful with the heat gun,
I might add.

Everything, that any and all have posted, praising the noise difference is
TRUE! Since I'm a little hard of hearing, I just lived with it until it got
so loud, it became more annoying. When my wife complained it was no
loud she couldn't hear the Television ... it was time to do something.

Today, I plan to do the same with my PTP240 that's going back with us.
