Harry,

I'm surprised that your display running at all. My PowerCenter display was
developing all kinds of "artifacts" after a G3 upgrade. I upgraded to a
(discontinued) IXMicroUltimateRez from OWC and that fixed the problem. Did
that make computer actually runs faster? I don't think so. Just the screen
re-write is cleaner. Talk to the people at OWC (MacSales) to see what your
best options are.

One thing about cable modems: The speed is determined by the number of
subscribers connected to your node. If you suspect that a "node overload" is
slowing you down, threaten them to go with another (DSL of plain dial-up)
service - assuming that you have such an option. Tell them you might as
well, since you'r paying a premium for a connection speed that is no better
than the alternatives. In my case I've found that in a day or so, my
connection speed "magically" improved. It's worth a try....

Subject: Powerbase Graphics Card?

I've had a burning video card question for a while as well. I have a
Powerbase 180 upgraded with a Powerlogix G3 card running at 450mh and using
OS9.2.2
(via OS9Forever) and 160mg ram. I have a cable modem but find surfing sorta
slow
(I've confirmed with the cable company that the up/download speed is working

"normally"---they say it's my computer slowing things down). I still have
whatever graphics card was installed originally in the computer. Would I get

faster web performance if I upgraded the graphics card? If so, any
recommendations?
I've tried upgrading drivers, but that didn't work.

Thanks,

Harry
