3 is the Apple setting, assuming the basic hard drive is 0.

With 4, 3, 1, and 1 for SCSI ID, you have 16 possible IDs, although a 
narrow bus can handle only 8, and ID 7 is reserved for the host.

So, either 1 is for something else, or the SCSI ID is actually 3, 2, and 
1.

Terminate the last drive on the physical drive chain.
