Hi again! >>OK, so I have this Power 120T. Theoretically, if it had a big enough >>hard drive, and a Sonnet upgrade (G4), could this thing run OS X?
>>TIA, Lavode ============ >The answer is YES, but you will probably need to use XPostFacto to get it up >and running. It is a free download. >You need at least a 3 gig hard drive (Get at least a 20 gig, you will need it >eventually) and a minimum of 128MB of memory (256 or more is recommended). >A DVD ROM should also be installed for installing off the OS X disks. >Ken Martin ******************** I thought the PTP's with a G4 Board was the only PwrComptng models that would run OS X. But then, I haven't kept up with all the latest in Hacks and such. Here, lolling in the desert, I've an old spare PCP 210 with Sonnet G3 400MHz board maxed at 512 MB and would shudder to think of all the problems, I'd have with OS X on this aged beast. BUT, 128MB memory? I'd think that if it would run OSX with a XPost Facto hack ... It might let you boot it up ... but if you plan to run any spread sheet programs or say, email with Virus & Firewall apps ... OSX pigs out on memory like MicroSuck. Methinks, you'd better Max. the ram or that thing will have you gritting your teeth and saying things that would make your mama blush ... while it's crashing like a demolition derby in Hanna, Louisiana.
